Fenbendazole, Ivermectin and Mebendazole for Colorectal Cancer: 84 Case Reports Compilation (July 2026 Update)
Abstract
Background: Repurposed antiparasitic agents, including ivermectin and benzimidazoles (fenbendazole and mebendazole), have gained attention for their potential anticancer properties, particularly in colorectal cancer. Preclinical studies suggest these agents may exert antitumor effects through mechanisms such as inhibition of cell proliferation and disruption of key oncogenic pathways, including Wnt/β-catenin signaling.
Objective: To summarize and evaluate a compilation of case reports describing the use of ivermectin and benzimidazole-based regimens in patients with colorectal cancer, with a focus on advanced-stage disease.
Methods: This review analyzes a curated series of 80+ case reports involving patients with colorectal or related gastrointestinal cancers treated with ivermectin in combination with fenbendazole or mebendazole, often alongside standard therapies such as chemotherapy. Reported outcomes include radiographic tumor response, biomarker changes (e.g., carcinoembryonic antigen [CEA]), and clinical status over follow-up periods ranging from weeks to months.
Results: Across multiple case reports, patients with advanced (Stage IV) colorectal cancer demonstrated notable tumor regression, reductions in metastatic burden, and, in some cases, complete remission following combination protocols. Observed responses included rapid declines in CEA levels and significant radiographic tumor shrinkage within 2–6 months. Several reports suggest potential synergistic effects when these agents are combined with chemotherapy. Mechanistically, supporting preclinical data indicate that ivermectin may inhibit colorectal cancer cell growth and interfere with Wnt signaling pathways, while mebendazole may disrupt cancer metabolism and tumor proliferation. However, outcomes were heterogeneous, and not all cases demonstrated consistent benefit.
Conclusions: The compiled case series highlights promising signals for ivermectin and benzimidazole-based combinations in colorectal cancer, particularly as adjunctive therapies. However, the evidence remains largely anecdotal and observational, with risk of bias and lack of controlled clinical validation. Rigorous prospective trials are required to establish efficacy, optimal dosing, safety, and potential integration into standard oncologic care.

Ivermectin: A Promising Avenue for Research
Ivermectin, a widely used anti-parasitic medication, has been the subject of preclinical studies investigating its potential role in cancer treatment. However, there is a notable lack of published clinical research. To support further exploration, we have compiled and categorized case reports by cancer type, providing a centralized resource for researchers and individuals interested in its potential applications. Despite its promise, it is critical to consult with qualified medical professionals before considering any treatment involving Ivermectin.
In 2021 (Zhou et al) - The study results demonstrated that ivermectin dose-dependently inhibited colorectal cancer cell growth, suggesting that ivermectin might be a new potential anticancer drug therapy for human colorectal cancer and other cancers.
Ivermectin also blocks WNT* pathway (one of the main drivers of colon cancer spread) (Loftalizadeh et al, 2022).

I was give a bleak 12-18 months with the hope of making it through Christmas 2018. I reduced my sugar and dairy intake as much as possible and tried to eat a healthy plant based diet with the occasional bit of chicken or turkey. I also drink 5 cups of green tea a day and added berbine (1000mg x 2 a day) and added turkey tail mushrooms and lions mane mushrooms.

Following adding Ivermectin, his tumor markers dropped from 1489 to 4.7, and his metastases calcified and shrunk. This was believed due to the anti-metastatic effect of Ivermectin as it suppresses the WnT Pathway, which cancer stem cells rely upon.

Colon Cancer and Vitamin D
- This large-scale 2025 review looked at diverse populations — The data covered various groups and nationalities, including women in the U.S. Midwest, Danish adults with a family history of cancer and Canadians living in high-altitude areas. The participants had different health statuses as well — some had colorectal cancer, or a documented vitamin D deficiency. Others were also given a vitamin D supplement.
- While the participants varied in health status and genetic risk, a consistent pattern emerged — The researchers found that the lower your vitamin D levels, the higher your risk of developing colon cancer. On the flip side, people with adequate or optimal levels of vitamin D had dramatically lower rates of cancer.
- Unfortunately, majority of people today have very low levels of this vital nutrient — A recent study that looked at the vitamin D status of more than 5,600 adults found that 37.6% had vitamin D insufficiency (blood levels between 20 and 30 ng/mL), while 42% were severely deficient (blood levels lower than 20 ng/mL) in this nutrient.
- A landmark 1996 study found that women with the highest vitamin D intake had a 58% lower risk than those with the lowest intake.
